Clueless host staff at ABSA Montana

Worst service. I paid off my Overdraft last week at Absa Montana. A day later I went to the branch requesting to close my account, the host lady told me I can't close the account without my bank card. I didn't ask much, she works here so she knows better so I went home to search for a card I didn't find. At that time the account had R165 or so which I would have withdrawn then, this morning the account has accumulated R588.00 in charges, I go back to the branch with the aim of getting a new card so I can close the account (How stupid), but to my surprise the lady who assisted me told me I don't need a card to close the account, but to close today I need to pay the R588.00 as I can't close an account with a balance. I was really ****ed because I could have saved this amount if the host lady didn't tell me that ******* from last week. So all of a sudden, I can close the account without a card. What a waste of money. No thanks to Absa Montana. I really think I should be paid back my R588 and train all staff about the happenings in the bank. No wonder I'm chosing to close all the accounts and insurances I have with them. I should get my money back.
