Closing my account

I'm not impressed with Absa bank and I think maybe this time around I must just close my account and do business with another bank. I feel not valued as a platinum account holder because nobody seems to be taking my request serious. I phoned the call centre on sunday the 9th August 2017 and requested a limit increase on my petrol card as I was planning to buy some tyres that week. I've been up to date with my payments and even paid more than what was required of me since I had the card. My turnover is very high as I do all my transactionsa through the absa account. The consultant did the assessment and at the end of the call informed me that the limit of R3000 extra will be granted , but will only be loaded during the week. On my monday I checked my internet banking only to see my old limit. I phoned the platitnum credit card line and I was told there was no limit increase request and later the consultant changed the tune by saying that my request was escalated to the limit increase department. It was only today that I go an sms that indicates"we are sorry to advise that your application for limit increase has being declined". I've banked with Absa for more than 7 years and this is what I get for my loyalty?I escalated the matter to their action line and all i get is e-mails aknowledging my complaint as oppose to actually sorting out my complain. Absa is really taking my business for granted and they did this with our club insurance product and we closed the account. It looks like I will follow suit in my personal capacity and also ensure our club closes their savings accout with Absa due to the ill-treatment I've been receiving to date. Whats the use of getting messages to say due to your credit record you can qualify for an overdraft of R88500, but Absa can't even afford to grant me a mere R3000 limit increase. I'm very angry and hope someone sober will resolve the issue before I jump ship!

As per the complaint above no positive feedback came from Absa bank except an ongoing smses advising me that my limit increase was declined. The sms has a number you can contact for further inquiries and whenever I call the number I get told " you can't speak to the Limit increase department). It is more like people can't be asked questions on their decisions? All I wanted to know was on what basis did they come to a conclusion that I can't afford to service an extra limit I'm requesting? Surely that isn't much to ask especially if someone has made such a decision. I noted that still Absa confirms what I've been saying about them, the fact that I'm just another number to to them as they don't care. I'll be closing my cheque account end of the month after the debit orders have gone through and will be paying the credit card over time and ultimately close them as well. My vehicle finance will be coming to an end soon and I don't see myself getting another car through Absa bank and will be done with Absa the bank I've had more than 10years relationship with. I got a call from the courier company saying they will be delivering my new petrol card and will simply take it a cut it to piece as it won't be any use to me anymore. I'm fortunate that I've few more banks to choose from and hopefully they will value my business. Bye Absa and if you continue like this you will definitely lose more customers. We have a club account and I can assure you I'll influence my fellow club members given my bad experience to ensure we close it and open new one with other banks. I did influence them to close our club funeral cover with Absa and will do the same on the club account all due to bad service from the Bank.
