Claims for 2 incidents

I have already logged 2 claims which none have been fixed or closed yet.

The first has been opened since December 2015, our geyser burst not only did they not come within 24/48 hrs of being reported, further damages were made to our wall which they had to come repaint. The job was done poorly, the paint started to peel off the wall because they did not wait for the plaster to dry. They came only around 4 months later after opening this claim again. This time even worse, they didn't even bother finish painting the wall, there are patches on here. They sent through an assessors as they thought the peeling and cracks were caused by something else... 3 months later I'm still waiting. Almost a year down the line I still have cracks and peels on my wall which is due to Absa insurance's negligence as they did not meet the time to replace geyser in the SLA which was proposed in the contract.

Second incident was the recent floods, yet another claim has been logged. My tenant's electricity box has been tripping and as a result unable to get electricity and our electric fence was damaged from the storm.

Again, they send through an assessor. This time they sent through assesors twice, the second assessor did not even know why he came for an assessment (how professional?). My tenant has been sitting there without electricity for 3 weeks and not even hot water to have a shower.

I have been chasing them every week and to be honest, if I am paying for a service why should I be reminding my Absa how to do their jobs? Do they even comply to the basic TCF principles?

After being with Absa for 2 decades having my homeloans, insurance and my account with them, I am seriously thinking about moving all of that (despite the admin) to another bank. My experience for the past year has been shocking from the insurance department!

The best thing part their suppliers is that they don't even know which client they are phoning, the referred themselves as Standard Bank insurance to me!

Absa insurance, get your act together!
