CLAIM NIGHTMARE

Good morning

I've experienced a major problem with my claim for my windscreen. Please register a formal complaint.

On Thursday, 24 January 2019, I contacted ABSA I-direct to register my claim for a CHIP in my windscreen whihc was very very small. I wanted to resolve this immediately to avoid paying the excess for a new windscreen and this would've saved the insurer money as well. I was informed by the consultant that I must go to my nearest Glasfit centre because they could not come to me. I went to Hatfield Glasfit, ON THE VERY SAME DAY, and when I got there I was informed that the technician who fixed chips resigned and I was referred to the Menlyn branch. Because Menlyn is far from me, I could only go Saturday, 26 January 2019. On Saturday, 26 January 2019, the CHIP evolved into a CRACK. If the process was not such a nightmare and ABSA I-direct assisted me on the previous Thursday, the chip could've been fixed, notwithstanding the Glasfit contracted by the insurer could not provide the service which I pay for every month, an amount of R800+p/m! I completed the claim form and the Glasfit representative informed me that they will ordered my windscreen and that it will be received within 2-3 days. I was never contacted again, and three WORKING DAYS later, I phoned Glasfit to enquire if my windscreen was there and there was no trace of my claim form. The representative told me that she will call me back immediately after she looked into the whereabouts of my claim. Now, DAY 4 I have not received the "immediately" returned phone call form Glasfit and contacted ABSA I-direct. The agent informed me that there was no claim received. Considering 3 above, I will now have to pay an excess of R550, which is very unnecessary and I am disputing that as well. I need urgent feedback on if I can fit my windscreen TOMORROW at Glasfit Menlyn.
