Cheque account handed over to debt collectors-***
I had Cheque account which was used for my secondary finance. In last three month nothing come into account. While I was busy trying to arrange for plans which can be using account, I started getting endless phone calls from ABSA, within two weeks I received SMS that my account has been handed over.
Just for record, there was no loan associated with this account all what they (ABSA) were demanding was Normal monthly service fee.
When I went to Branch to pay off all outstanding fees, I was told my account had been locked and have to speak to Debt collectors MBD on ***. I contacted them they gave the bill R739 once paid is only the the account will be closed.
I made the payment and I m wanting for ABSA to confirm the closure of account. I don't want them to leave the account open and demand another monthly service fees. My advice to other ABSA users, if you not using your absa account the first thing is to close your account before ABSA dent your credit record. Once you have been handed over you will send from Post to Pillar because the process is so complicated even ABSA employees from the Branch they don't know about the process. I have to do all phones calls my self to sort it out
Please can someone from ABSA confirm my account has been closed.
Thank you
