Charged for Absa rewards when told it was free

My credit card was up for expiry end of last month, so I went through a couple of weeks before and collected the new one from the Heerengracht branch. When collecting the new card the teller asked if I knew of Absa rewards. I said I did, but had not taken it out since they charge you monthly for it. She told me that since I am on the Platinum package I would not be charged. So I signed up then and there. <br> However, on the 1st of this month I was billed a charge of R 21 for Absa rewards (and actually the rewards I got for the month were less than this). So if it's supposed to be free for me then why am I being charged? Either Absa is taking a chance and charging me anyway, hoping I don't notice, or their tellers are badly informed. I did also consider that they may have decreased the charge for my platinum cheque account, but this is not the case. Please let me know what the story is and how this can be resolved.
