Cellphone banking is not secure
Absa cellphone banking has a serious security flaw. On 30 December 2015, I requested a credit card statement via cellphone banking. I asked for it to be emailed to me. When I received the statement, the 'To:' field contained not my name, as it is supposed to do, but my Absa logon 'Surephrase', which is supposed to be confidential and displayed only when I log in to Internet Banking. I have been engaged in a discussion, via email and telephone, since the end of December, with still no resolution. Absa assure me that what I experienced is impossible, but I have their printed statement to prove it. They appear to be ignoring my complaint in the hope that I will simply 'go away'. Absa clients need to be aware that Absa does not understand the way its own Cellphone Banking system works.
