Card tapping

I have recently received a credit card with the tap function, without my consent. In the current excessively ********ized climate of South Africa, the tap function is probably the worst innovation ever!! I asked Absa Private Bank to deactivate this function, and they said it cannot be done. This is unacceptable. At no time ever, would I want to have this function in my debit/credit cards. Absa needs to review this decision, especially since there is no maximum limit. Absa didn’t even inform me that my new card had that function! I received a rude shock when a cashier at a pay point informed me of it. I want Absa to deactivate this function on my card.
