Card Collection Obstacle

1. An ABSA employee told my mother that she required a power of attorney to collect my bank card on my behalf.

2. I sent my mother with a power of attorney to the ABSA branch at Ferndale on Republic to fetch my debit card as I am unable to (I am new at work - so leaving during office hours is out of question and I am in the North West on weekends)

3. My mother was told the her power of attorney was incorrect i.e. that both she and I were required to come to the bank to get a power of attorney issued.

Point 3 completely defeats the purpose of the power of attorney.

Assistance would be appreciated as I am in need of my card and will not be able to collect my card physically in the near future.
