Cannot close a dormant credit card account

<p>My husband is curator for his mother's affairs. He is also very busy and w live 60km away from the nearest ABSA bank. When he first tried to close his mother's credit card account he couldn't as there was a debit order on it. This has been sorted. The next time we went to the bank she told us to use the phone inside the bank to close the account, but this was very frustrating and didn't work so it was suggested that my husband send an email which he did. We have heard NOTHING and the bank has kept the account open and continues to charge bank fees. How sick is that? </p>
