Cancel my account or waive the monthly fees!

I am currently living in New Zealand and I paid up my Absa credit card and want to cancel it. I paid over the money almost a week ago via EFT and fully understand that it can take a while for the money to reflect, but this is crazy! If I make other payments to any account it hardly ever takes more than one day. I am using another SA bank account so its not even an international account! I want this account closed as I am not going to pay any more fees on this account! Get this sorted out ASAP!
