Hellopeter.com

Hi, I am Francois van Niekerk and I have been a victim of ***** via the ABSA Electronic Banking Application.

On Friday 03/08/2018 at 08:11 I received an SMS that money was transferred from my Credit Card to my Savings Account. First the amount of R 10,000.00 then the amount R 103,000.00 was transferred. A third SMS then showed a Payment for the amount of R 112,000.00 from my Savings Account. I phoned the ABSA ***** line on ***and reported this to Kennith Hlagala who gave me a reference number: ********** and said that the transfer had been made to a Capitec Account.

I received an email from ABSA with two forms. 1. Reporting Electronic Banking *****. 2. Client Statement in Respect of a Non-trading Loss. This also instructed me to get a SAPS case number from my Local Police. After sitting in line at the SAPS an filling in the relevant documentation I got a Case Number 25/08/2018.

After this I went to my local ABSA Branch. Maryna Greef assisted me to fill in the relevant documentation and sent all the relevant information to ********** and copied me in.

After this I went to my local Capitec Branch with all my documentation and asked to speak to their Manager. After confirmation with their Regional Manager they were able block this Capitec Savings Account at 14:40 that afternoon and provided me with a reference number: ********** 7. They also confirmed that the money had been transferred out of that account already and a balance of R 11,000.00 was left.

My Question is why did ABSA not act sooner on my behalf?

I have contacted the ***number several times and received an escalation reference number: ASZA ********** 63 and to please note that the investigation can take up to 30 days and more.

Today is 07/08/2018 an till now there has been no confirmation or contact from an Investigator or response that an investigator has been assigned to my case.

I have been a loyal customer with ABSA for the last 18 years and all I ask is that they will assist me. I have no funds available to me and need to survive. Without your assistance I will not be able to recover from this.

I appeal to you to please assist me.

Regards,

Francois van Niekerk

Hi Vanessa, Thank you for your response. I am really desperate and any assistance will be much appreciated. I have only recently been able to get back on my feet and this has brought me back on my knees. I just need to know that ABSA will stand by me to be able to recover that was taken from me. Hi Vanessa, Today is 16/08/2018 and I have yet to receive any feedback from Absa concerning my Case. Till now there has been no confirmation or contact from an Investigator or response that an investigator has been assigned to my case. I have phoned ***several times with reverence ASZA ********** 63 and still the only reply is it can take up to 30 days and more. This is still leaving me without sleep and focus and I am truly worried about the outcome of this. I have Contacted FNB and will be moving all of my accounts. Regards, Francois van Niekerk
