Call recording not found for more than two weeks

My house was struck by lightning on the 14 January 2017.I lodged a claim with my insurance Absa for the Electronic appliances that were damaged on the 16 January 2017. I was adviced that the Assesor will be send for assessment,it took a day to two days before he could come I made a follow up and the eventual the Assesor was available to come after two days, he came and assess and found that the electronic appliances that I claimed for was indeed damaged.

After checking all those damaged appliances and taking pictures he told me that he want to do what we call inventory checklist which was my first time to hear about and I was puzzled of course,he went ahead with the so called" inventory checklist"where he went from bedroom to bedroom opening the wardrobes making an estimation of how many hangers each wardrobe have, the pair of shoes,my underwears, cutlery,my kids's toys, his bikes and teddy bears, furniture and electronic appliances while he was thumb sucking the value of all those mentioned items in my house.

After all that he told me that the value of my house content amounts to +_R500 000. What puzzled me was the inventory issue which was not mentioned or raised when I took the policy the advice I was given was to give an estimation of the value of house content I wanted to insure and I gave the amount of +_R160 000 based on the value of the actual house content I wanted to insure which the toys, underwears, clothing did not form part according to my understanding and the clarity that was made to me by the broker, hence I was surprised on the inventory issue which was imaging during my claim stage, and the contents included besides what i knew, should clarity have been made on the cover of my underwears and toys of my kids was forming part of the contents insured I would have claimed several times because for the past uninterrupted 10 years that I have been with Absa there are many underwears that went missing and shoes not to mention toys that got damaged or break by accident.

They agreed to pay R+_13000 for all the the electronic appliance which according to my own inventory checklist if I was to give the actual value based on the invoices at my disposal is amounting to R+_R80 000. I then requested for the Caĺl recording to verify if I missed something on the complete insurance clarity cover by the broker who sold the policy to me, I have been waiting for the call recording for the past two weeks and I have been receiving e-mail with excuses ever since with regard to the call recording.

Even this morning I spoke to the Manager who is handling claims at Bronlink for Absa by the name of Alida Grieb who told me they are still searching for the call recording which might take longer since is +_10 years back, but just last week a different version of the progress was given on the trail e-mail I received where I was told they eventually got the recording but it has a system error, but today it was not yet found as per Alida's explaination where she further indicated that if a complete policy clarity was not done by the broker it will be at his/her cost (broker) meaning she will have to pay me for the ommission committed. I was really surprised because I actual pay premiums to Absa and who ever would have committed the error is working for Absa hence when you call they always advice that those broker works under supervision. So actual find her statement very contradictory.

This is really frustrating for me because eventually I ended up replacing some of the electronic appliances since I couldn't afford to be disconnected to the World for the whole month especially for the kind of job I am doing, and I already explained my frustration to them hence I was expecting the processing of the claim to be done by now.

Your urgent assistance will be highly appreciated with regard to the claim.

Regards
