By how much will ABSA lower their fees?

ABSA has announced that it will cease to accept cheques as instrument of payment on 31 December 2020. The principle is making sense - these days cheque payments are rare and there are many other, safer and easier channels to use when doing payments. However, as a 30 year client of ABSA, I have been paying a premium on banking fees because I was led to believe by the ABSA managers that chequing accounts are more expensive to maintain than other accounts. I have now asked many ABSA managers and approached the bank via social media, wanting to know if banking accounts such as mine will now benefit by a reduction in fees - unfortunately no reply was forthcoming from any ABSA employee.
