Business Account Mess-up

<p>I app**** for a business account inside the bank, only to be told to do so online, which I promptly did. After not receiving any confirmation, I called ABSA and was told there were no application submitted. I did everything again and allowed the bank ample time to approve the application (I was told this would take four days). I kept on following proceedings online but nothing happened so I called ABSA again. After being on the phone for over 20 minutes, I finally started losing my cool and threatened with poor reviews online. I also app**** for a merchant device at the same time. My threats had them install the device two days later and I was informed that the device is linked to the account I have app**** for. I started using the device and got automatic banking confirmations each night. I (again) went to the bank this week to collect my debit card and arrange for internet banking. Great was my surprise (and horror) to be informed that there were NO FUNDS in the account. After investigation, it was found that the original account was CLOSED and a NEW one was opened. The business banker at the branch assisted in phoning the merchant bankers and I was told that the funds were HELD back. At this time my patience had run out and I started making more phone calls. Finally Bianca from merchant services phoned me back and I was told that they were not responsible for the messup! Louise from business banking services told me that THEY were not responsible. Four days later, and NO further communication, the status remains the same. Still no funds in my account and nothing was done from the bank.</p>
