Business account frozen because I did a sim swap

On 8 March my bank card was swallowed by the ATM. I called Absa to find out the reason. I was told that my account was frozen due to a recent sim swap.

I acknowledged that I did a sim swap two weeks prior. They told me that a deposit was made and the ***** department wanted to confirm if I am aware of the payment. They could not get hold of me and decided to freeze my account pending investigation. I informed them that I was aware as I do business with this person on a monthly basis and I must provide an affidavit and proof of payment. My business banker I submitted all required documents. I called again to follow up on the status of my account but was told that a request was sent for my account to be reinstated. I also have a Capitec and Tyme Bank account I found out that those accounts were also put on hold as I made transfers to these accounts. The hold was a request from ABSA.

It's 3 weeks now and I am not getting assistance. My banker keeps saying they will escalate. As long a my account is still frozen they cannot do anything. ***** must clear me first. Same goes for the branch manager at The Glen.

I have to pay for services and I can't access my account. As a small business this is really damaging. There are numerous complaints on this platform but still they keep doing the same thing over and over.

Absa is trying to make me look like a ******** all because I did a sim swap and did not inform them.
