Bureaucratic nightmare
I'm in the process of moving back to SA. You'd think getting a non-res account changed back to a normal account would be easy. Last week I was told the funds (which I need to move) would become available that day while the flag on the account changed (strange that Absa can collect the fee every month but everything else seems frozen) from non-res usually after five days. They still aren't available and the flag hasn't changed. I was told I needed to go somewhere to sign a form I wasn't given when I first went in. I complained and the form magically became available online. I was promised a resolution by Friday. I didn't hear anything. The latest is that my complaint to the "Action Line" has now moved to another consultant, one Kubu Mokwetli, who invites me to phone but has deleted their number from the message... and tells me they need another 3 to 5 days.
I did actually need those funds to move and planned according to what |I was told. I of course am not moving funds from the UK into this account if this is what happens. If this is "Private Banking" I hate to think what normal banking is like. I know what's going to happen. This is just going to get ignored with tomorrow being a holiday and then kicked out until new year.
Some of your staff members really do try but on the whole this is beyond pathetic.
