Bunch of ****** that never plans on paying a deceased funeral claim.

I wouldn't even give the one star if it was possible. My mom took out a funeral policy from Absa. She said if she passed away I must take her bank card and death certificate to the bank and they will pay out the claim to me. That was it. They didn't inform her that the day of her death they will make it impossible for anyone to claim her funeral policy. Because now they need a letter of authority!!!!! I don't even stay in the same state as my mom which means I have to drive hundreds of kilometers for a letter of authority because letters of authority can only be obtained in the town that she lived in!!!! So why don't they tell this to their customers when they are in the process of convincing them to take out a policy with them? My mother who was a pensioner was told its as easy as taking her bank card and death certificate. So this is my conclusion. Absa bank lets people pay for funeral policies making sure there's no beneficiary, promising the easiest of claims just to say to the family when the person dies sorry get n letter of authority. If you. I will tell everyone to never ever take a funeral policy from Absa bank, because they don't attend to pay it out ever. They take your money and after your death your family will never see a cent of it. There is no way for me to get a letter of authority in the state my mom lived in because I don't live there and some of us needs to work everyday!!!!!! So congrats Absa with the money you get from my moms funeral cover since I will never see a cent of it, just like you planned it.
