Good day dear I trust you well, I am looking for help with a problem I'm having, I purchased a vehicle from a dealership in jozi and was financed through absa bank. However when I took ownership of the vehicle it had a engine warning light on the dash and the same day I called the dealership and told them I don't want this vehicle as I had just lost my job. The guy from the dealership said I must keep it and he will send a truck to fetch it. The bank debited me for the vehicle and I went to reverse the debit order. I phoned the dealership on many occasion and was told they would send for the vehicle. After 8 months of haggling to get the vehicle returned they came to fetch the car. Now the bank has put a bad report on my name and said must pay R182 466 for the vehicle that I don't have. Please assist me with this as I am trying to buy a house but this is my obstacle. Thank you for your assistance Dear Christopher,
We refer to your complaint forwarded to our office regarding your AVAF account.
The complaint was referred to our AVAF Department, which stated that you voluntarily surrendered your vehicle due to unemployment and your vehicle was sold on auction in May 2022. They furthermore stated that the account was written off to recoveries with an outstanding balance of R207683.79, which you need to make arrangements to pay or settle.
Please find the documents attached for your perusal and please contact our AVAF Department directly, should you require a discounted settlement amount, which will be subject to approval.
We extend our unconditional apology for the inconvenience caused as this is not aligned with Absa Bank's customer-centric service theme.
Trust that you find the above in order and confirm we are closing our file herein.
