Building insurance - terrible service and unrealistic refusals

I've logged a claim months ago with Absa for my house's water damage that happened after a big storm.

After months of following up a carpet was replaced in the main bedroom-approved by Absa.

After more follow up for the rest of the water damage-numerious phone calls and emails I was informed that the rest will not be approved as the roof is leaking. This makes no sense as the damage was on the ground floor of a double storey house-I've requested an explanation more than 2 weeks ago-more than once in fact-still no explanation.

I've also requested for my policy schedule to be sent through to me and to cancel my insurance with Absa to take it elsewhere - silence - no feedback, no phone call, no email, no schedule, no cancellation.

Every one reading this review-please do yourselves a favour and do not take out any type of insurance with Absa - you will wait for months and your claims will not be approved, but you will pay your insurance.

By the way-they add the policy insurance as a once off to your allready existing bond-which means you pay interest on the insurance as well - so your bond just keeps going up.

Very bad service.

Mpho Lerume

Buhle Sethole

and the rest of the claims department where all included in my emails.
