Bond Extended without buyers knowledge
I am writing this on behalf of my distraught father. He took a homeloan to finance our bond home with ABSA when i was 4 years (i am 36 this year). Upon completion, he took a second bond or what they refer to as a loan on the house. The contract was for 10 years. The contract was supposed to be paid up by 2016 according to the agreements he has. To his surprise after the second loan he stopped receiving statements and was getting sent from pillar to post each time he visited ABSA Secunda to enquire, tis went on for years. In 2020 we started probing and pushing ABSA Secunda to understand why was he not receiving statements and why was he still getting debited money when he is supposed to have finished paying in 2016. Only then we discovered that there was a third loan of 20years (on top of what he knows) that was taken on the house but the bank could not provide him with the loan agreement. My father had and still has copies of the agreements he took and what he was told was news to him. He requested the agreement to see where he signed but the bank could not give him because they did not keep archives, they had to request the archives somewhere. The matter was then sent for investigation. Just when we were happy and hopeful that the archival records will be taken out and we will see and confirm that it was not my father's signature that confirmed the loan, we get told that the files got burnt, but he is expected to keep paying! Just like that...ABSA cannot trace what happened but my father is supposed to keep paying, even when he went passed the years he signed up for. Can we urgently get this matter resolved and have ABSA reimburse my father for all the years they ****** him!
Best regards,
