Bond Cancellation
I have been divorced since 2006. I have a copy of my divorce decree and 2 signed contracts by my ex wife in 2007 and 2008 where she was paid out in full . I have now paid up the bond fully and they still need her to sign refund form to cancel the bond. Even though there is no refund due. I initially called home loans and explained my ex was not prepared to sign and i was advised the 2 documents accompanied by an affidavit stating its her signature would be fine. Once this done i was advised by transferring attorney ABSA still requesting it. I took it up with ABSA which was like jumping through hoops, then told it went to legal department and my exes signature still required. Im really disgusted at the level of service and the fact they never requested to see documents, just an email saying the bank sticking to decision. During the course of bond i was paying approximately R800 per month for structural insurance, and when i requested assistance with a burst pipe, they just brush me off.
ABSA really not a bank that looks out for its customers, and would like customers going forward to think long and hard where to secure their home loans from.
