Bogus ABSA Home insurance

Stay away from ABSA Home insurance - They will delay your claim and frustrate you to the point you want to give up. The wind damaged my boundary wall and electric fence on 14 August and my property has since then been exposed. It is today the 27th of September and still no response from ABSA. I can not even remember how many times I phoned them and they keep on playing cat and mouse with me.

What an unpleasant surprise from ABSA. Thanks to the article on hellopeter they responded after never getting back to me in 1 and a half month telling me that the boundary wall was not damaged by the wind and they will not attend to the claim. Please check the weather report for 14 August in Lichtenburg. Many people had damage on that day. ABSA claim the wall was damaged before......how did they determine that???? Is this their justification for not attending to my claim. Please people stay away from ABSA!!!!

Last night I received the rejection letter on the claim for my boundary wall. ABSA claim the wall was leaning over and about to collapse. Further they state that over a period the storm water affected the structure. I took pictures today the foundation is 100% in tack and strait, no water damage and no proof that the wall is hanging over. In fact it is perfectly straight and a very solid foundation. I spoke to the person that did the assessment for ABSA and from our conversation it is clear that he does not have the skills set to do an assessment. I propose to get a structural engineer to assess the wall, if he confirms the report from ABSA I will carry all the cost. If it is not the case and the ABSA assessment is incorrect then ABSA must fix the wall and pay the structural engineer. I tried to contact both Lungile and Daphne without any success - by phone and by mail.
