Big disappointment in Absa , after 10yrs of premium collection . ****************
I took up a funeral policy for my dad with Absa a long time ago , I think around 2009or 2010 I don't even remember . When I took up that policy I confirmed that I will be paying the policy ,all these years I've been paying diligently . No asked me at any point who the beneficiary would be , because I assumed that logic states if I'm paying for the policy I would be the beneficiary . I've lost my dad ,and Absa only informs me now that there was no beneficiary selected ,I was asked to obtain a letter of authority which requires us to evaluate all my father's assets. It's taking up time and I'm struggling to get that information . My interest is to bury my father with dignity , it's Thursday now I don't have that document and the funeral is supposed to held on Thursday . I feel as a client Absa has treated me unfairly ,they had no interest in assisting me in this , instead of mourning my dad I'm running around like a headless chicken . This is upsetting honestly
