Beware Absa Policies

In recently bought a home and the bond was approved through Absa Homeloans few days after the bond was approved a consultant named Buli contacted me for a home loan protection plan as a life policy was need with the bond.... I initially agreed to the policy but did some research and found policy that insures me for the same amount but is cheaper in premium.

I emailed Buli stating i want to cancel absa policy... No response from her since August 2023

Then took off twice on two different days to go in the absa branch in attempts to cancel ...they just put me on the phone with the call centre and the agent rudely says they cant find the home loan protection policy on my profile

Then take off again to go in the branch at N1 city

The financial planner there tried her best to help but we spent 4 hours phoning different department's and just got the run around

Then end November 2023 still struggling to cancel the policy ....i email the complaint department get a response from Gerldine diedrieks from absa home loan department and she escalated it with absa life and on the 5 December 2023 get a email from Gerldine says they have successfully canceled the policy will end at the end of December 2023 and two months premiums will be returned

Low and behold this month the policy went off again and is still active

Im so damn angry right now... But no response of feedback from absa
