Be weary of ABSA ATM'S
5 days ago i went to an ABSA ATM to draw R4000. I inserted my card and typed in my pin, then accepted the waiver that stipulated that my bank will charge extra fees to draw at the ABSA ATM. I keyed in the amount that I wanted to draw, the ATM screen displayed :'the amount requested is not available". the ATM dispensed no money to me. So I then proceeded to try again. Same results followed.
1. The reason my complaint is aimed at ABSA and not TYME Bank is that i attempted to withdraw money at an ABSA ATM. It was the ABSA ATM that printed a misleading withdrawal. The money does not reflect in my account nor was it dispensed by the ATM. If i bought KFC and used my <>:?{} card to pay, went home to discover the box was empty, would I direct my complaint to <>:?{}
2. After 4 days of numerous, lengthy, frustrating phone calls to *********** staff who did not even attempt to acknowledge the error that was made, and only fed me lies and misleading information, I am hoping that this forum gets me some positive results.
3. I have been given the run around on too many occasions from ABSA to TYME BANK and vice versa. I do not get any results just excuses, Yesterday I literally spent half the day waiting to go inside an ABSA branch only to be misled by an ABSA employee of the Newcastle mall branch.
The ATM in question was number 11603, Date 16/12/2021 , Time 19:06:25 I sincerely hope that the relevant officials treat this matter with the utmost urgency it deserves, considering the time of year and our current economic situation.
The above response and your email dated 21 December 2021, under subject heading C-***7 (ref:_OOD1r1GluM._5005q3BSb:ref) refers;
. You lack the empathy required as an inherent skill in the financial service industry.. I do not accept your sincere apologies. KEEP IT.. Your email mentions nothing of any time frames, today being the 27 December 2021, a full 11 days after the incident was officially reported.. As I mentioned previously, it is my airtime and data being used up to chase *********** seat fillers such as yourself, if you took the time to read my initial complaint you would realize that your email does not respond adequately to the questions posed, and if you feel it was sufficiently handled to close the file, this is just more proof of your incompetency and inability to perform the tasks aligned with your job.
1. If the file is closed, as you purported in your email, is it receiving any attention at all? and if so from whom?
2. Why have I not received feedback after 11 days? Is ABSA waiting for me to call, so that I can be inundated h ABSA's commercial that I am forced to listen to while I hold for an operator.
3. Your lackluster approach to resolving this complaint is laughable. I hope to hear from you soon.
