Be Carefull

A Warning to everybody closing a account with Absa, make sure they give you proof that the account is closed properly. I Closed my Platinum package with them in 2014/02 and had to pay a closure amount at that time ,I did so and received a sms stating account closed with 0.00 balance. Now after 2 years I get a notification from attorneys for a court summons. Phoned them and only to hear that the credit card account wasn't closed and that outstanding amount is R1800. With Absa saying the sms is not notification of closure now.Never received any communication from Absa regarding this in 2 years.
