Bank Glitch leaves poor pension without food!

My Mother, who is an Absa client and a pensioner, had to repay an amount to a person who wanted to rent a flat on her property when a deal went sour. On the 1st of November 2019, she went to the Absa branch at Three Rivers. She did not want to do the transaction herself because she is not very technologically inclined and this is why she went to the branch for assistance. She had to arrange a transfer of R5100.00 to Capitec account of the person in question. A lady by the name of Anne-Marie from Absa assisted her to take R1800 out of savings and put it in the cheque account and then transfer R5100.00 to the Capitec account. When she checked her account later during the day she saw that Absa had may two successive transfers of R5100.00 to the Capitec account. Anne-Marie has repeatedly phoned the person and his daughter and everytime they have a new story. They say Capitec says its *****. She has contacted the Bank Manager, who apparently told her to tell the daughter they had to draw cash and go to Absa in Three Rivers to pay it in. If it was my Mother who had done the transaction and made a mistake, we could understand this situation but it's the bank that messed this up. Now my poor Mother is R5100 out of pocket and she is batting to buy food never mind the bounced debit orders and penalties that the bank is charging for its mistake! What is Absa going to do about this? It's a bank mistake and yet they take no responsibility for it and my Mother is left penniless. Shocking to say the least! They should pay her the money back and claim it from the other person - why must she suffer for their negligence?
