BANK CHARGES TOO HIGH

I have a cheque account with ABSA I lost my bank card in early December 2016 I app**** for a new card online and was sent an sms to pick up the card at Eastgate branch. I went there on the 8th December to pick up the card and the lady who was assisting me had a problem with the speed point that she was using after numerous attempts we changed speed points and evenutally the card was activated.

I then first used the card on the 14th December 2016 when I withdrew some funds from the account and everything was fine. The following day being the 15th I had sent someone to make purchases with the card but was not working. I told them to try and withdraw the money but still it was no working.

I could not go to the bank as I was at work and we were short staffed since it was the holidays. therefore everytime I need money I had to do cash sends to myself. I was only able to go to a branch on the 24 Decemeber 2016 when I got there the gentleman assisting me told me my card was blocked hence I could not use it. He then unblocked it and said I must go and withdraw some cash which even after that I still could not and it was still giving me an error message.

I went back inside the bank and was there for about 3 hours while they were busy with the card eventually a new debit card was issued.

I cannot be liable for doing cashsends on my account when I needed money, yes I had to go to a branch but because of my working hours I could not and it is also not my fault that the consultant who was helping me did not activate the card.

Please can you explain to me what it is that I am paying for and why now only all of a sudden whereas the other previous months the charges were fine. In total I have done 19 cashsends until the 24th December 2016. I refuse to pay for an error that one of your consultants failed to do their job properly.

Please do contact me as I would like to get to the bottom of this.
