Bank accounts frozen

My name is Thandi Radebe frm vereeniging. *** .My grandmother Cecilia Radebe passed away 2017 feb, she left money on her ABSA and FNB accounts without knowing that she should appoint someone as a beneficiary. We went to both banks but not successful, we were even told to find a lawyer to help us but the amount is not more than R20 000. They even told us to go to the small court which did not help. Please assist us in this situation.
