Bad service from Absa Bank

On the 28th September 2020 we put in a claim with Absa Insurance regarding a leak in our main bathroom wall which also affected the adjacent bedroom wall. We were given a claim no. A plumber, detect a leak and assessor were sent out. The detect a leak gentleman looked at the wall (hands on hip) and said he could not see a leak ?? According to the assessor he said that it would be fixed yet the claim came back from the bank and was rejected. The plumber and detect a leak were sent from JJ Lourens Plumbers and assessor by Digicall Solutions. I then made endless calls to the bank with the argument that how would you detect a leak if you had no equipment with you. Detect a leak was sent out once again (same company) and he said that when the geyser was installed (by Absa Insurance) there was a problem with the overflow pipe, so water was running back into the wall. He would submit his report. After numerous calls again to the bank and being told that there was no report submitted. Then we were told we had to have a new claim no (after all the calls not once did the consultant tell us we needed to have a new claim no) On the 31st December we got a new no and again was given the run around. An assessor was finally sent out Carlos Engelbrecht and he admitted to my husband and myself that this problem should definitely be fixed. Then again I had to phone the bank numerous times to follow up. I eventually sent an email to claimsinfo@absa and was told that a Fundiswa from the specialised team would get back to me. I had to continue to follow up which by now became extremely frustrating. Finally we get an email saying claim has been rejected due to gradual deterioration. Not once did somebody from Absa phone us back. We were also told that there was no one in Cape Town that could help us (face to face). By then I had spoken to mention a few: Joseph, Emma, Lionel, Ehle, Nowhandle and Sibusiso. JJ Lourens Plumbers Digicall Assessing Solutions FOOTNOTE; In the rejection letter they mention the female elbow? that is leaking. Not once did anyone mention anything about a leaking elbow and it was not the bank consultants that came to do the checks. We were also told from the bank that they are not allowed to give us copies of the reports. When we called the offices of the people sent out we were told to phone the bank. We have to pay for our insurance and I don't understand how we cannot claim from them. Absa Insurance had the geyser fitted and the problem is coming from there so who is at fault here. We have a bond with Absa on our present house for 26years and have never claimed for anything else. !!
