Bad service for HOC Claim, rather fix it yourself and try to send them the bill to pay you.

Absa seems to not want to fix damages, rather lets you hold on at their call centre to follow up on a claim for long periods, hoping you'll rather get bored and drop the call. They do not have any control over their contractors appointed to resolve a claim, it would seem. How long does it take to resolve a claim, seems the longer the better. When you do get through to a consultant, it still takes you almost half an hour for them to follow up and getthe same response "the contractor will come out today", however this never happens.

have logged two claims, one for geyser (replaced the next day, but thermostat under warrenty is not working correctly, resulting in a warrenty claim), the other for lighting damage. The geyser claim has now been ongoing for over 2 weeks (seems I'll just need to replace the thermostat myself, deal with the warrenty issues later Absa will throw at me when claiming again for a burst geyser). How long can this take (the "new" broken geyser which still does not work) to get fixed after multiple follow up calls and promises that you will come out to fix the day of the call.

As for the lightning damage. When will your appointed electrician contractor one day come out? Seems you don't understand or don't care about ones living conditions. Without electricity, how does one care for your 3 week old baby? Seems Absa does not care (and yeah, Imentioned this to your call centre staff following up on the geyser claim already). Do you really care about your clients as people, or just our money that you take monthly?
