Bad Service at Galleria Branch Kzn

<p>A friend who has lived in the UK for 10 years"s card has expired. She wants to give power of attorney to me so I can courier the card to her the UK so she can urgently access her money here. After nearly 3 or 4 months of back and forth at the Amanzimtoti Galleria branch, and various emails from her to the branch, they sent her a power of attorney form and told her to get it signed by a lawyer/notary. The forms arrived today and I went into the branch. A person called Chantelle at the "Check in" counter was so arrogant and rude to me - spoke to me like I was a dog. When I said that my friend in the UK has dealt with a lady in the branch, she asked who. When I said I did not know who, she said to me" Wll then, why did not even bring that up, it is not relevant". I have never been spoken to by anyone in a bank in such a derogatory fashion before. I asked to deal with someone else, and she said, "Speak to her (gesturing to a lady nedt to her, who had just sat there saying nothing) - she is my manager". She also said the form was wrong - the lady had no right to have it filled in by her lawyer, and it was ******* for her to do so. "Where did she get this form from - she has no right to have it" says Madam Chantelle. I have subsequently phoned the lady in the UK and have been told by her that ABSA, yes ABSA EMAILED her the form and told her to have it filled in! I am disgusted.</p>
