Bad Experience with Absa Idirect Car Insurance

I had a bad experience with my Insurer Absa Idirect. Was driving from PTA to Jhb on the 20/01/2020 when I suddenly heard a big sound. At first I thought it was my tyre that busted or some shooting on the highway.I almost lost control of the vehicle.I immediately drove to the nearest filling station (New Road -Shell garage )to have my tyres checked. The petrol attendants couldn't find any puncture.I continued with my journey home.As I took a turn to my house I started hearing some funny noise on the roof of the car,it sounded as if things were dropping on top.....I still couldn't figure out as to what it is.I then decided to go to another filling station in south road. The guys checked and noticed that my sunroof shattered .I called my car dealership the following day to have it checked.I was told that probably a brick that might have flew from a truck while I was driving or somebody must've thrown a brick from the flyover bridges. This is not covered under motorplan.I then called my insurance to report the incident.

I was told by Absa Insurance that this will not be covered either as I didn't disclose that my car has a panaromic roof. My question to them was their consultant never asked this question when I insured the car.As a woman how was I suppose to know the features of the car.Is this my fault? When I insured the car the question I was asked was the model, the make of the car and other questions but nothing was said about sunroof etc.How am I suppose to know what other features the car has?Surely that question should come from the Insurer not me.They have specification of cars with them and they deal with cars everyday.

When i asked the consultant who took the call if this is right as that question was never asked he gave me his honest opinion and told me that the consultant that assisted me to insure my car should've asked that....

Does it mean the car was suppose to overturn first before insurance covers? I almost lost control on the highway I manage to bring the car back to my lane.Is this not categorized under accident? What is an Accident? This is the Glass that got shattered, is glass not covered by insurances?

Now when I told them that we have other cars insured with them that has sunroofs,so does it mean that they not covered too?Their response was I need to call in again and update my policy and add those sunroof as extra's on those cars. This came as a shock to me.We've been with this Insurance for more than 5 years, and to be given this information only now.I'm furious!!

My car is sitting at the dealership topless as the insurance is refusing to cover for damages.

I'm disgusted with Absa Idirect.....
