Bad attitude
5 months ago I opened an account for my son. Today I went in to activate Internet banking and was told the account had been deactivated because no deposit was made. The teller told me there was a note on screen that I had been phoned Told I had to activate it. I explained I did go in an activate the account but had not been told to deposit any money. She was abrupt and told me I needed to see a sales consultant to open a new account. I was willing to do this thinking it would be easier than going to a new bank, but sat for 20 minutes waiting. I left and called hoping they could help me make a plan to open the account faster since I had done it once but the woman was rude and made it seem like it was my fault. I feel it is the banks responsibility to make it known what is required not mine to guess. She admitted there may have been a misunderstanding but did not issue an apology and said that no bank would open an account without a deposit since they had to pay the reserve bank. I never had a problem paying a deposit, I just wasn't asked for one. All I wanted was an apology and someone to seem like they were helping me. They just lost a customer
