Bad After Hour Credit Card Service
It is with utmost disgust absolute non-existent service that I have to write this review.
Herewith chronological order of events: • On 13 December 2017, @ +/- 13h00, I bought various items from MB Electrical and Lightning, Margate Branch, KZN – salesman was Kelvin. • The purchase amounted to R 5 392.00. • As I knew there was not enough funds available on the credit card, I requested Kelvin to do the transaction on the personal cheque account. • Halfway through the card transaction, he stopped and cancelled the transaction (without me even putting a pin no. in the machine) as he realized he chose the credit card option. • He then restarted the transaction using the cheque account, I inserted my Pin No., and the transaction went through. • I then took my stuff and left. • On the 15th @ +/- 16h30, my wife and I decided to go to the Riptide Restaurant in Southbroom, to have a drink and maybe something to eat. • She then said to me she quickly wanted to check the balance on her card. • After logging onto the internet banking app, she called me and said there was a serious problem on our accounts. • MB Electrical’s purchase amount went through on both the credit card and cheque account. • How can ABSA allow this money to go through the account if there is insufficient funds available? • I then immediately phoned MB Electrical, and they agreed to wait for me so we could investigate the matter. • When I arrived there Kelvin and Abdur ***ner) met me, and gave their absolute full support to see if the fault was maybe on their side, to see if the transaction was maybe done twice. • The showed me the printouts of the daily card transactions of both the 13th and the 14th December, and only the one transaction on the cheque account reflected on the printout @ +/- 13h06, the 13th December – this corresponded with the slip I received from them at time of purchase. • Abdur also went so look so far to look at his CCTV material, to make sure his salesman followed the correct procedures. • I then came home and phoned Absa Credit Card, where I first spoke to Boitelo Ramorola. She then handed me over to her supervisor, namely Thelo Beaunoir. • He later then got Mapule Malikane also involved in the conversation. • To say the least, their service and willingness to help was utterly disgusting. • They did not want to believe what I’m telling them, and treated me as a *****. • After a lengthy discussion, they eventually phone Nedbank, and Nedbank could not furnish them with any proof of authorization for the second transaction on the credit card account. • How can Nedbank ***** money from my wife’s credit card account, and there is a problem to get it back. • I want that money credited back into the credit card account immediately.
In November 2013, I had a similar experience with ABSA Bank credit card when they took 2 months to credit my account.
On Monday the 18th, I will approach the Banking Ombudsman first to lay a charge against Nedbank for *****ing money from me/unauthorized debit of my wife’s credit card account, and for ABSA’s non-committing to resolve this matter urgently, or helping me by increasing the limit while this matter is resolved.
