Hello Peter
I have just had a terrible experience with Absa Vehicle Finance. I have been in a process of desperately trying to sell my car (financed by Absa Vehicle Finance). It is a 2015, AUDI, A3 1.8T FSI SE STRONIC 3DR. The reason behind me wanting to sell it is that I can no longer afford it and as a result I find myself in deep financial issues/debt and getting rid or rather selling my car would be a huge first step into the right direction of me being able to deal and sort out my financial situation.
Long story short - I tried various options i.e. to sell privately, trading it in(would be an option as id be in more financial debt). This led me to ask on numerous occasions my settlement amount to allow me to view and gauge how much is the market value and interest I owe to the back etc. What startled me is that I asked for my settlement amount in the month of June and then is was R 342, 905.93 to be specific. A text with this mentioned amount was sent to me by AVAF on Friday 01 June at 16:40pm. Fast forward I ask for another settlement amount a month later (Monday 02 July) and they sent me a text stating that the settlement amount is now R 346, 975.20. That is an over charge of approximately R 4, 069. 27. in just a months time. I was so shocked as a result called their accounts department raising my concerns and discontent about the matter. I spoke to a lady (one of the call centre attendants) and also strongly agreed with me that this shouldn't be the case and was going to take up the matter with one of the supervisors named Fareed De Koker (by email and send him all my details) and he was going to get back at me with an explanation ASAP. The ref number of that call is ********** 17. This was on Monday 02 July, it's now 8 days later and no one has bothered to get back at me with an explanation of what happened. To make things even worst or suspicious (at lest for me) is that after 10 days AVAF hasn't taken their monthly debit installment from by back account as they would normally do on every first day of the month.
I need an explanation from AVAF, why would they over charge me or my settlement amount increase by a whopping R4k just over a month when it's suppose to go down as I make payments. I have never missed any payment on my car installments, ever! Who knows this ist the first time this has happened and I am paying a debt that never goes down? I am pleading and writing to you to review this matter please. I required monthly payment/transcations or statements that show me as proof of how much I have put thus far and how much I still owe to the bank exactly because now I am just not to sure. What if I have been over charged all this time and this is the only one time I am finding out about this?
Please I would really appreciate if you would please investigate this matter.
Best Regards. Vuyisa Ndleleni
