AVAF - ********** & unhelpful ABSA Vehicle finance

A month ago I was coerced by an ABSA employee to surrender my vehicle. 19 July 2022 to be exact, a gentleman who claimed to be sent by absa arrived at my home and told me he came to fetch the vehicle, unless I could pay the amount in arrears (R35000). I explained to the gentleman I could not come up with the money at such short notice. But needed some time to pay. He than exclaimed he was not leaving without the vehicle and threatened me with court action, To which I unfortunately succumbed to.

After the car had been taken, it has been very difficult to be in contact with anyone from ABSA. I was sent from pillar to post, making it difficult to try and make payment arrangements and pay the amount in arrears. There was no communication from ABSA, telephonic, digital or otherwise. Which lead to me fearing that the car had been ******.

I have on numerous occasions tried to contact their legal department to no avail. Now I have received a statement with an accumulated debt in my name. This is ********** and unwarranted because the vehicle is in ABSA's possession and I have no use of it. I pleaded to make a payment arrangement for the car to no avail. Now I am being *******ly charged for the said vehicle. There is no indication of whether my account has been closed or whether I can still get the car back. The gentleman who took the car told me that car is now at ABSA Vehicle & Asset finance trade centre. This means that they’re trying to sell the vehicle. So I am baffled as to why I am still receiving account statements with accumulated debt on my name. This is ********** and unprofessional behaviour by ABSA. I am yet to receive any assistance by anyone but wish to settle this in an amicable manner if it is still possiblse.
