AVAF Debit Order Change Instruction Ignored

This morning I received a call from ABSA Credit stating that my AVAF account is in arrears, this after beginngin the process at the start of November to change the debit order details on my account. After having heard nothing for two weeks from AVAF I finally called the called centre to confirm whether they had received and actioned my email instruction with all the required supporting documents the call centre agent confirmed that the instruction HAD been changed and the next debit order will be going off on the 7th of December, from the new bank account. And now I get this call stating that I have to pay right now - they have already notified the credit bureau that my account is in arrears - I find this COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE.
