AVAF Account STILL Not Closed

In December 2024 I concluded an arrangement with ABSA AVAF to pay up and close my vehicle loan account. The agreed amount was payed and I was issued a paid up letter stating that: "We have instructed the credit bureau to remove all adverse information and information relating to paid-up judgments in so far as it relates to this account, from its records to the extent that this is legally required."

However, on 7 April I received this SMS: "Absa: Dear Client, an urgent payment is required today towards your Vehicle Finance account. Failure to do so will result in your account being handed over to attorneys to proceed with legal action. ***0. Please contact Gladys on *** or email ***ca. T's&C's Apply. Auth FSP/NCRCP7"

I contacted Gladys and explained the situation and sent her the paid up letter. She said she would get back to me, but to date I have heard nothing. I have looked into my Credit Bureau profile and it still shows the account as open with an outstanding balance.

I hope this complaint will get the attention of someone capable of rectifying the situation, because clearly Gladys does not know how to do her job properly.
