Automatic International Travel Insurance

Good day,<br> <br> I have just phoned the travel insurance department from ABSA. <br> <br> I am travelling to Portugal and France in September 2015. I purchased the tickets with my credit card and wanted the letter stating that I have the automatic cover.<br> <br> Now they say that in the wording it says that if you have a pre existing condition they cannot issue an automatic travel insurance letter for the visa application if I dont take up a top up option (which ranges from 600 to 800) since the schengen states require that. <br> <br> I have searched the wording of the terms and no where does it say that about the schengen states. <br> <br> I have medical aid cover for medical through Discovery. I just want the normal automatic cover when you buy a ticket with your credit card. <br> <br> I have been a loyal ABSA customer of most of my life (I am 31 and my first account was with ABSA since I was small - ie 6 years) and this is really not right. I am really not impressed with this service. <br> <br> All i need is the automatic cover - my pre existing cover will be covered through Discovery. <br> <br> Kind regards,<br> Andr?
