ATM ***** and Not willing to help or Reimburse.

Last night, I experienced ATM *****. Well, my mom did. She used my card with my permission. I look after her on a full time basis. I give her full access to my bank card and I knowingly allow her to draw money at her leisure. She went to draw money from a FNB ATM, it was convenient for her to do so at that shopping center. When she put the card into the machine, she inputted the pin number and then nothing happened. She got the card out again at which point a gentlemen accosted her and took the card from her and forcibly tried to show her" how to do it". At this point, the card got stuck, and the machine would not give the card back. Clearly, this is where the con happened. Just after, they managed to draw R 2000.0 out of my account. Naturally, I cancelled the card shortly afterwards. I went into ABSA Randburg this morning to get a new card and report it as instructed by the person who cancels the cards and I was met with a less than enthusiastic response. The guy seemed amused at my plight and seemed blasé about the whole thing. He even recommend that I not bother reporting it as someone else was using my card. He said it happens every day and the odds of me getting my money back are minimal. I said to him a crime has been committed here and I would like to report it. R 2000.0 is a fair chunk of change and I would like to know that the bank I use will do their utmost to get it back to me. But from what he said, it seems unlikely. Is this the attitude of Absa ? Been with this bank for many years, granted this is my second account but I still bank with you. I was a victim of a crime. This is systemic of the culture in our country where no one takes responsibility. How did these ********* get my pin number ? What technology do they use to clone the cards ? Why do I have to carry the costs of your ineptitude ? Surely you are insured ? Terrible attitude and service. Just terrible. Yeah, and I will continue to allow my family access to my card...
