ATM Deposit and NO slip printed by the machine.
On the 15/10/2023 I went to an ABSA ATM (number;09629) at Morula Complex around 04:30 pm to make a deposit of R2000 into my IKHOKHA prepaid account. When the machine prompted me to enter the money, I did and it started counting. When it finished counting a message appeared on the screen which confirmed that it was the correct amount. It is only after this that things did not seem to be going the way I was expecting them to do. The machine suddenly terminated the transaction and showed me the thank you message on the screen without going all the way to print a deposit slip. i stood there for a short-while not knowing what to do. It was a Sunday afternoon and the banks were closed at that time. I also remembered that at IKHOKHA they have mentioned that sometimes the deposits can take up to three days to show in the account. I kept checking the balance up to Thursday morning while hoping that things might change before then. When there was no change by Thursday morning I made a phone call to IKHOKHA company to inform them about this. I was advised to go to the nearest ABSA branch and inform them about this. I went to Protea Glen ABSA branch on Friday morning but they wanted the ATM number before they could help me. I did not have the number then, so I had to get someone at Mabopane to get me the number. I went back to them on Monday (23/10/2023) to relate my story. They gave the following reference number( C-***3) and told me that they were going to investigate my case. On Friday around 15:22 pm a message came to my phone telling me that my claim has been rejected. I have written an email to ABSA about this expressing my dissatisfaction and disappointment about this. My biggest problem about this is; first, an amount of two hundred got deposited into the ATM and secondly, the machine confirmed this by showing a message on the screen. How then does the money disappear from the ATM? I have seen situations where camera footages around the ATMs are checked, maybe they can look at them to confirm that what I am saying is true. The email address I used to send my query to them: ***
