Appoint enough staff at ABSA Secunda
Dear ABSA Secunda Mall. Please have more than one person on duty at the “Customer services and Tellers” counter on Saturday mornings. This is the second time I have been here to find the branch short staffed. The staff are absolute troupers, working as quickly as humanly possible, smiling the whole time. In some cases they have to handle angry customers (one understands why they are angry), and they handle it with absolute professionalism. This is a failure of the management. Appoint more staff. And please commend your staff that soldier through. Thankfully I am in the queue today to close my last account with ABSA. I look forward to ending my 34 year relationship with ABSA.
Kind regards

Best regards,
Please also update ABSA’s processes so that when a client gives notice on an account to close the account, that the transaction costs are taken into account when paying out the funds. My 32 day call account now has a negative balance after the funds were paid out which is why I have to go in to the bank again, to pay in the transaction fee balance before they can close the account. I was clear from the moment I gave notice 5 weeks ago that the plan was to close the account. It is because of repeated incidents like this that I have chosen to end my relationship with ABSA.
Unfortunately I am still stuck dealing with ABSA’s estate department because of the delays in finalising my parents estate. This is also one of the reasons why I gave notice on a savings account. The delays caused by ABSA and their lawyers has had a huge financial implication on my sister and myself as we have been left to maintain the estate assets for 18 months. And the only progress is due to my sister following up with the master’s office when we realised that the lawyers weren’t.
