Appalling Service with ***** Division

I am absolutely appalled that this company is still running.

On 4 July I called Virgin Money and requested the amount I owed, and asked them to please close my account as I no longer wanted a credit card. They tried to talk me out of it and I clearly stated that I wanted the account closed as soon as I had made the final payment. On 5 July I paid the amount. I assumed that my credit card would then be closed and cancelled as I had cut the card up.

On 15 July an iTunes purchase went through and I was confused - as my credit card should've been cancelled. I then got an sms to say my new credit card was being delivered. How many times did I have to say I did not want a credit card anymore?! I then went online, and found two ********** purchases for Bitcoin to the value of nearly R14 000, which were purchased on 6 July 2019. To repeat myself again, I phoned on the 4 July, paid by the 5 July and requested this card to be cancelled.

I have phoned numerous times since 17 July, as a ***** case was opened. Everytime I get the same answer, "someone will attend to your case, I will escalate it." I filled in the declaration and emailed it through on 13 August. To irritate me even more I am now getting calls and smses to ask why I haven't paid my overdue amount on the credit card. I am not paying one cent to Virgin Money, as this is their problem. I asked for this account to be closed, they didn't do their job, now I have to waste my time and my money phoning and following up for the last two months. I am so sick and tired of shocking service. This case needs to be resolved, so that hopefully if somebody is capable of doing their job properly, this credit card can be cancelled .so that I can get a card with a more reputable and efficient company.
