Appalling service

British Airways Credit Card ********** ********** 41. I made a transaction on 11 January 2017 on my credit card which was duplicated and was clearly **********. I was phoned an hour later by ABSA ***** unit to ascertain the validity. I indicated that I was not happy with it and they said that I should contact their disputes department which I did. I got a routine acknowledgement a week later quoting terms of contract and saying they could not assist. I should have in fact told them at this point that I knew nothing of the transaction. This is in hindsight. I did some research on the internet which stated that the Bank is able to assist and while they will not get involved in any dispute they could return the debit. This is fair enough. I was told that I needed to contact the merchant. This was not possible as there was no contact telephone number nor was my email responded to. I sent this reply off and got no reply. I telephoned to follow up and was told I had to wait 31 days. They appear to protect their back office from all communication and would not put my call through. I waited my 31 days and unsurprising had no response. I sent another email off with all the suppporting documentation showing I had communicated with the supplier requesting the cancellation of the order and advising it was duplicated and got a response from Lydia July a few days later saying they would assist but needed copies of my request for cancellation etc. ([EC: 60f4cf42]). This was already submitted to them with the original request and she clearly had not bothered to read the correspondence. I sent the information off again together with a fresh email stating I had not received the goods and stating that the transaction was duplicated. The only contact details with the seller was an email address. There was no response at all. I followed up with Nhlanhla Mazibuko who again would not put me through to the back office but asked me to send him the information again. I did so and he confirmed he received it. He undertook to get them to get back to me. Yet again no response. I cannot see why there cannot be some assistance provided to a client in something as simple as returning the debits. I am not asking for the Bank to be involved in any dispute but if there is a response then at least I can be provided with a contact number. The site where I ordered asked for the credit card details first and then came up with a whole lot of additional products at a ridiculously overpriced price which I declined. As I proceeded I got more disenchanted and in fact did not confirm the transaction. They used this to duplicate the transaction which was twice the price which I ordered. This is arrogant and inattentive service and has been going on for two months.

Best regards,
It is disgusting that I have still had no response to the review. I followed up with Daphne on Friday and still there is silence. ABSA clearly have no idea of customer service or how to deal with customers.
