Annoyed by Absa's uncaring service

I have been banking with Absa bank, until last December 2020 i was charged R500 which I did not know what for, so I called the bank call centre and I was told its for INTERNET BANKING, I didn't understand and the person on the other end said it will be investigated, came end of January my account was Debited, i got upset as no one bothered to get back to me and explain the R500, and on the 3rd of February I called again the call center and asked the bank to close my account, as i felt they did not care about my query, the gentlemen on the other end told asked me security questions and told me someone will get back to me, a week passed and no one got back to me, i decided to open an account with another bank thinking they had closed the account, so end of February my salary did not go into absa and thats when i started getting calls from the bank telling me that my account was a thousand and some rands overdrawn, i explained to the lady that called me what had transpired, she said to me i still had to pay that money as they had no proof that i called, i thought their calls are recorded as they always inform us on the line, the lady said to me, even if i had called as i claimed, it would have not been possible to close that account as it would have a balance of R120 or something, i then asked her, wouldn't it have been better to have someone call me and tell me to pay that R120 instead of having them calling me now to pay a thousand and odd rand which i dont have and not prepared to pay?Now im getting threatening calls from Absa and others telling me to call, go to the nearest branch and pay. that Rude woman who told me there is nothing she can do for me i must just pay that money, thinks Am an idiot who will just be shunted around, i work hard for that money that Absa wants to take from me. can they just check the calls that they claim they are recording
