Alternative accomodation cover too little

On Nov 16 our house was flooded during a hail storm. There was a lot of damage and we couldnt stay in the house. The assessor came by and confirmed that we could look for a guesthouse nearby after confirming with the contractor that it would take about 2weeks to repair the house, and adviced that we shouldn't look for a hotel or 5star establishment as they won't pay for it. We had previously spoken to Cindy who asked for two different quotations for accomodation. Our policy states that it covers for loss of rent and pays for alternative accomodation and that the alternative accomodation should be of the same quality as our house and that its limited to a maximum of 25% of the insured amount. After spending the whole day calling and surfing the internet for nearby guesthouses, spending a lot of money on airtime and data to source quotations we get told by absa that they can only give us R400 a day when the cheapest place is about R1000 a day! They claim that the 25% of the insured amount is divided by 365 days of the year which makes R267 and that management offered us R400 as a sign of goodwill. Nowhere is this on the our policy! Why raise our expectations like that! Dissapointed!
