Account sent to legal after missing one payment
After missing one installment, I received a call from an ABSA consultant; who shouted at me as if he was speaking to a 5 year old even though I was being extremely polite and trying my best to explain the situation (luckily their calls are recorded and they can refer to the call).

The consultant referred the case to legal, who were more polite but advised that once they receive the case they can't hold on to the case for long; as I advised that I would be able to rectify the account in a month and highlighted the strong possibility of settling the account. However, I was told that they would simply repo the car if I don't pay immediately (and the cutoff date just gets closer and closer).

This stance will result in a negative impact on my credit score and thus affect my ability to derive an income and thus affect my ability to service my other arrangements I have with them; all because they can't wait for a month.

The dealer I bought the car from did, however, warn me that banks and insurers love having rare finds on my car's calibre and I should be extremely careful with it. I just dismissed this as a wild accusation, but I can now see that some truth in this statement exists.
