Account not closed as requested

On Sat 27/02 I had to go into an ABSA branch to close my credit card. Waited for half an hour in the queue only to then wait another 15 min with the consultant who had to call head office to assist with this request. I was left alone to speak to the lady at head office on the phone to have my account closed. I was told my credit card would be closed and that an amount of R48 would be left as a credit and I requested it to be moved out into my 32day notice. I was then asked to speak to the branch consultant to move the credit funds into my 32 day notice. I specifically requested them to ensure the card was closed as I didn't want any more fees running off. He confirmed that no fees would run off. This morning i see fees have run of the card which clearly indicates that the card is not closed. I will not go back to an ABSA branch to do this as I did my part already. Why make a client go to the branch when the process requires head office to do it any way. I also refuse to pay for the amounts that came off on 01/03 when i asked my for my card to be closed on 27/02.
